HELP FUND OUR HERMITAGE
Heed’s vision is to create a community of contemplative hermits in a cloistered setting. The immediate plan is to establish a hermitage in a home that needs improvements. The long-term plan is to purchase a cloistered monastery that contains a fully-consecrated traditional chapel. The maintenance and acquisition of these properties will require significant funds.
URGENT!
FOR THOSE WHO ANSWER HIS CALL
Eremitic vocations
We support contemplative anchorite, eremitic (hermit), and monastic vocations. These Catholic brothers and sisters dedicate their lives to God and God alone. They live in silence, solitude, and prayer. Many aren’t part of an established order and require financial support to make ends meet.
Religious formation
We provide support for new religious and ascetic communities in the process of formation. We help search for and finance the purchase of land, housing, furnishings, and liturgical supplies. We help cover the costs of healthcare insurance premiums for their brothers and sisters.
Discernment expenses
We help cover expenses for camps, training, conferences, retreats, and travel associated with monastery and convent visits for those who are discerning contemplative religious life. We provide evangelization to encourage young Catholics to pursue religious life.
ABOUT
Today we’re faced with a shortage of religious vocations, in particular those who seek and practice as contemplative anchorites and eremitics. Heed was established to help these brothers and sisters who are called to serve God alone. Because of this calling they aren’t typically associated with established orders or convents. As a result, they must live near a supportive parish. And since they don’t work and have no means for making a living, they need help paying rent, buying groceries, covering health insurance and medical costs, buying gas, and other expenses that employed laypersons or brothers and sisters in an order or monastery often take for granted.
